Modeling an axe

I started with a cylinder and then i put in some edge loops and i put a coupl towards the top and bottom. I selected the face and in betwee the two edge loops i extruded two sections out for the axe. The hardest part was trying to make the sharp edges towards the top and bottom part of the axe. I still haven;t figured out how to make the axe head bend backwards.

door and lamp

First thing i decided to work on was the lamp. I used the create polygon tool and i made an outline of the door hinge and the bar.  I also had to use split polygon tool to close everything up. I then made other bars that were coming out of it. I then drew the lamp.

Trash can and Chair.

The first thing i worked on was the trash can. I used the poly cube tool and i scaled it to size, then i used the insert edge loop tool so i could extrude the back. I then used vertex to try to make the back and sides even. I started on the base of the chair and i used poly cylinder.I Clicked on the face and then i counted every six squares and i pressed shift and my sixth selection. I then extruded all three selections out until i made the stands. I then clicked on the face in the cylinder and i scaled in a little bit. I brought the outer part of the cylinder up a little bit and then extruded in .

Lamp and speaker

I first imported the images to photo shop and i painted it. I then imported the images in to Maya and used the Polygon Cube to make the speaker andI used polygon Cylinder to make the little speakers. For the Lamp i used polygon cylinder and i just started extruding until i got the right shape.

First Project

I chose to do a clock, since this is my first time using Maya i decided to get some tutoring. I went t o nick and ask for some help and he helped me to be able to navigate aroun Maya a little better. He also showed me some hot keys and showed me some little tricks to make my job easier.

Solar_System

The first thing i did was i created the sun by going to create-Nurbs Primitives-Sphere. I turned off the interaction creation so the sun would be in the middle. The integer that i used for the sun was 4, I just typed in 4 for X,Y,andZ. I then used create-Nurbs Primitives-sphere for the rest of the planets and the moons. I just changed the values for each planet and the moons. The number i used for Mercury was 0.2,Venus 0.5,Earth 0.5, Mars 0.4,Jupiter 1.0, Saturn 0.9, Uranus 0.7, Neptune 0.7, Pluto 0.15. I made the Moons half the size of the planets. The book also said to make a maximum of two moons for each planet, but i decided to make the right amount of moons for the planets. I gave saturn 18 moons and i gave Uranus 18 moons, I also gave 16 moons to Jupiter and 8 moons to Neptune.
